Founder's Art/Poster Contest

Who May Enter
Any child, ages 4 through 14, in the United States.
Subject of artwork/poster:

The subject for the poster is National Grandparents Day.
1. Artwork depicting grandparents and grandchildren sharing activities.
2. "Olden Days" themes: Inventions and treasures of yesteryear.
3. Any colorful, cheerful artwork (flowers, decorations, abstract art) with appropriate slogan.

Suggested slogans for the posters:
"Happy Grandparents Day!" (September 11, 2006)
"Grandparents Are Love"
"Make Every Day Grandparents Day!"

(Entrants are also encouraged to invent their own slogans.)

Size of painting or drawing
8 1/2" by 11"
You may turn the paper horizontally or vertically. Use only 8 1/2" by 11" paper. We will enlarge your poster to 11" by 17" if you are one of our winners.
Suggested Medium
Tempera paints, crayons, watercolors, marking pens, charcoal, acrylics. 
(Computer art not accepted. All work must be freehand and original. Tracing not permitted.)
Deadline for entries
July 31, 2006

Second Place, Third Place and Honorable Mention winners will be announced on this website August, 2006.
First Place winners from each state will be announced to winners' hometown media in August 2006.
Grand Prize Winner to be honored at press conference on Grandparents Day.

How to Enter
Print your name, age, address and phone number on the back of your artwork.
(We do not release your name or address to anyone. See Privacy Policy.) All entries must be accompanied by Permission Form signed by parents.
Send all entries, by regular U.S. Mail, to the address below, by July 31, 2006:
