Tom & Ruth Gee

Tom and Ruth Gee, who were long time volunteers at the Alice Fong Yu School, have been named Grandparents of the Year by the National Grandparents Day Council, for the State of California. Unfortunately, earlier this year, a tragic car accident took the lives of these two exemplary community servants. Thus the family will accept the Grandparents of the Year award for Mr. and Mrs. Gee, at a ceremony at the school on September 8th. Tom and Ruth Gee were the grandparents of Pammy and Randy Gee who attend the Alice Fong Yu School. The couple often participated in field trips, helped do message folders, helped to tutor children and were always cheerful and encouraging to each student. Mr. and Mrs. Gee taught the students good study habits, good manners and lessons in charitable activities. Both were college graduates. Both participated in marathon walks in charitable fund raising. Ruth Gee was talented as an oil painter and seamstress. Tom was retired from the California Department of Transportation.
