Grandma is the backbone of our family. In the last three years, she has lost her husband, her mother, and her son-in-law. Our family is not very big and extremely close, so all of these losses were tremendous burdens on us all. Grandma has made it through these and other setbacks and still manages to have a big smile on her face and a will to go on. She is a fantastic lady who has faith and goodness running through her entire body. Although she is supposed to be retired, she still cleans houses for some local families and fills in every now and then at the hardware store. Because of her strength and perseverance, I feel she deserves this honor.
