Background information about the poem, "My Eyes:"
"I am the mother of two children, 6 year old Trea,
and 8 month
old Tori. I saw the contest listed on your web site and asked
my 6 year old if he would like to enter. He asked if I could help
him write a poem about his grandpa, whom he calls "Papa":
Trea, what comes to your mind when you think about Papa?
I love him.
When you see Papa, what do you think about?
Playing together.
What does Papa say when he sees you?
He loves me.
What does Papa talk to you about?
About when he was a boy, and how much I am just like him.
What about you is just like your Papa?
I think everything, but my Nana says it's my eyes.
