"I am nominating these grandparents for Grandparents of the Year because I feel that there are no two people more deserving than my two parents. I am married to an orthopedic surgery resident. An orthopedic surgery residency is five years in length and the residents work an average of 80 to 100 hours within one week. My children's grandparents have been by our side and have been the pillar of support and stability for myself as well as my children during these tough years that my husband is in training. Without the selfless sacrifices that my mother and father make every day, we would not be where we are today.
  With my husband's busy and inflexible schedule, PoPo and Gong Gong are the two people my children know next best, aside from myself and their daddy. They know Andrew and Rory and are so close to them, it's as if they only lived across the street instead of in another state. PoPo and Gong Gong truly are Grandparents of the Year, every year!"
